How to book a class/ course/ workshop

Classes, courses and workshops are run by different tutors. You will need to contact tutors directly via email to enquire about places and book onto it. Please contact info@millstreetarts if you cannot contact the tutor directly.

How do I pay?

Payment is made direct to the tutor usually by bank transfer, but cash or card options maybe also be possible. Payment must be made in advance to confirm your place. 

If a class is cancelled by the tutor, a refund or alternative session will be offered.

Are there any additional costs?

This may be the case for some workshops but should be clear from the description. Most regular classes and courses do not have additional costs

What do I need to bring?

Tutors will let you know what you need to bring or if all materials are provided. This will vary from course to course and week to week with regular classes.

This is a basic art kit for Alice Walker’s classes:

  • Sketchbook with quite thick cartridge paper (white or off white) 
  • Multi media pad/ paper or watercolour pad /paper
  • Pencils (a few different grades eg HB, 2B, 4B, 6B)
  • A fine liner (black/ brown or grey waterproof if possible) or black biro
  • Blending stumps (tortillon)
  • Soft eraser
  • Sharpener
  • Ruler
  • Watercolour paints
  • Brushes
  • Colour pencils (water soluble or not)
  • masking tape

Do I need previous experience?

Most classes and courses welcome everyone, but some may be more suited to beginners others to those with some experience. Please check with the tutor/ facilitator if you are still unsure.

Group size

Most classes and courses will be between 6-12 people.

Refreshments

Some classes include refreshments (hot drinks/ biscuits) but you are always welcome to bring your own. Please check with individual tutors/ facilitators what’s included.

Is it disabled access/ friendly/ Safe space?

The space has disabled access and facilities. It is wheelchair and dog friendly and a safe, calm, quiet and welcoming space for all.

Parking

There is some limited parking directly outside the venue with more close-by roadside parking.

Can I book the venue for my class/ event/group?

Mill Street Arts is available to hire for creative, therapeutic and nature related classes, courses, events, exhibitions and groups. Please see below for room layout, hire agreement and terms of use. Get in touch to find out availability.
